Nociception

Homepage

The goal of the nociception screen is to identify mice with altered pain responses in a sensitive primary screen. Our secondary screens aim to analyze in-depth various pain modalities and pathological conditions. The nociception screen includes assays for acute thermal, chemical and mechanical as well as changes in nociceptive thresholds after inflammation.
Hotplate Test

Primary Screen (minimum 20 wild type and 20 mutant animals required)

  • Hotplate assay: end points (first sign of pain, jumping) and temperature are variable.
